The Quilt Barn - January Newsletter

Hello Quilters,

Welcome to 2026! After the flurry of holiday activities, we hope that you have been able to take a moment of rest as the new year begins.

Do you make New Year's resolutions? What about quilting resolutions? At The Quilt Barn, we’ve been talking about what our quilting resolutions/intentions are for 2026:

LaRae:

“The majority of quilts I’ve made in the past couple of years have been shop samples. I’m sure I will continue to make shop samples, and one that I really want to make is called Steller Garden. I am so in love with this one, and I can’t wait to get it put together to hang up. In 2026, I would like to have more time to sew at home and get my sewing space organized. Wish me luck!”

Margaret:

"I am so thankful for what this year has given me and so I playfully use an old story to wish for my future: Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house UFO's were stirring, accusing me of being a louse. Visions of projects were dancing in my head, in hopes I could finish some before I feel dread. From my project totes there arose such a clatter; I started sorting to see which ones should matter. My hope for this year is to sort out the noise and finish some projects with purpose and poise. Happy New Year!"

Madalyn:

“Most of the quilts I’ve made have been gifted to others. This year, I want to add more of my quilting to my home. I have a space in my living room that would be perfect for a wall hanging!  I have a pile of fabrics that I’ve designated for planned quilts for my husband and myself. This year is the year to make those! In the process of making those quilts, I’m looking forward to trying new patterns and learning new techniques!”

What about you? Do you have a WIP pile that you want to make a dent in? A new style that you want to take a class to learn? Branch out and try colors out of your comfort zone? Share with us what you are going to create this year!
