Jelly Roll Rug or Placemat Class - March 7th & August 8th 2026 (Two Separate Classes)

Learn to make a jelly roll rug or 4 placemats of your very own! Instructor Veta has made dozens of jelly roll rugs, placemats, baskets etc.. out of jelly rolls and is going to teach you all her tips and tricks! A single jelly roll can make one rug or 4 placemats, what you make is up to you! 

      

Materials:

• One Jelly Roll of your choosing. 

• Batting Strips - 2-1/4in X 50 yards - Available at The Quilt Barn 

• You can use up scraps if you’d like, cut them 2-1/4in and you'll need approximately 50 yards.

• Clover Fabric Tube Maker - Available at The Quilt Barn 

• Thread. Can be matching or contrasting to your fabric. 3 pre-wound bobbins  would be helpful to have ready! 

• Denim or top stitch needle

Optional but helpful materials:

• If your machine has an extended table, it would be helpful to hold the rug as it gets bigger!

• A mini iron can be helpful.  

Pre-class Prep:

• Sew the jelly roll strips together on the short end, either diagonally or straight across. 

The Quilt Barn Class Policies

• The class fee must be paid in full at the time of registration. You are not considered registered until the fee is paid. Class sizes are limited; we recommend early sign-ups.

• If a class is full, you are welcome to get on the wait list to be notified if there is a cancellation. Open seats are on a first come first serve basis. 

• Supplies or materials required for class are not included in the class fee unless noted.  If a pattern or special tool is listed, each student is required to purchase their own.

• Please be aware that some classes require homework prior to class day.

• Supply lists are available in the class listing or our online calendar. 

• If you cannot attend a class after registering, please let us know 7 days beforehand in order to receive a refund. If you notify us in less than 7 days, you will receive a store credit. No call and no show will not be refunded or credited. 

• The class schedule, size and cancellations are at the discretion of the instructor(s)  Any class not meeting the minimum enrollment may be canceled. 

• Classes that are canceled by the instructor or The Quilt Barn will be refunded in full. 

• The safety of our customers is very important to us.  In the event of inclement weather, please call or message the shop before coming in. 

• Gift certificate values cannot be used for classes.
